dresses

We are just about a month away from it being March... which as we all know by now is the month that we will FINALLY be able to book the wedding. (Watch for the official countdown starting 2.1.09!)

So with those exciting moments ahead... I also get to think about dress shopping SOON!

In the past couple of days I have heard of and seen a couple different ideas when it comes to wedding dress shopping- and I just don't know what to think about it.

1st: Mom mentioned the Goodwill Bridal Showcase (2nd annual) in Feb... I don't think that would be something I would jump up and go for. BUT I would be VERY curious to check it out and see what kind of dresses that would end up there... I guess you never know! (I will be out of town so I won't really get to go... but I kind of really want to!!)

Also... I found this website today http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/. I kind of have mixed feelings about a used wedding dress... and will I really want to keep it when I'm done wearing it (twice)? Who knows....

I still have all 3 of my prom dresses from high school (those dresses are all about 10 years old now... and they are in the spare room closet)- so that might lend a hint as to what kind of sentimental junkie I can be.

What to you think about a used dress (that would obviously be in good condition)??

the MOH

This weekend we took a trip up to St. Cloud with two motives:

One, was to ask my VERY best friend to be my MOH [maid of honor]. Actually, she is Matron of Honor since she is married herself. I was happy that she accepted with an "of course, I would love to!" even though we don't have the date...

Second, was to just hang out with that VERY best friend of mine and her husband, Ben, for the night!

I plan to ask the rest of my girls very soon [also without having a date]. Even without a date I was assured that it will be nice to at least let them know. Should they accept, they will be able to have it in their minds and can start planning for a trip to Cabo next year!

Aaron will also get started on getting all of his guys in the know as well- boys have such a different way of doing things!

I had made a very special gift for Lana. Aaron took one look at it and said "I will not be making anything like that..." I'll be back soon with an update on our wedding party soon!

movie: Bride Wars

Last night Bridget and I went to the midnight showing of Bride Wars in White Bear Lake.

It was HILARIOUS!! a real LOL kind of movie... I loved it and happy about staying up late to see it. I am OF course a sucker for wedding movies... especially now, but really- always have been.

Here is a picture from one of the funniest scenes in the movie, I could NOT stop laughing!

wedding blogs

With how much I love blogs and blogging... I am always searching for good ones to follow.
I have been lucky in finding two pretty interesting blogs- two very good writers with great topics. Both of which focus solely on tips for wedding planning and everything else that comes along with the term "Wedding"

&

Every time I see an idea that I like I copy the link and add it to my ever growing list of "wedding ideas" email. This is an email that I send and resend to myself every time I find something that I want to "keep in mind" or go back to look at later when the REAL and serious planning gets underway.

wedding day nightmares

Last night was my 2nd wedding nightmare!! haha I say nightmare b/c things happen in the dreams that are not good!

for example:

dream #1 I had to pee real real bad and my dress was SO huge that I wasn't able to move or go to the bathroom...

dream #2 I couldn't get my hair or makeup to do what I wanted it to do AND my dress had a HUGE rust stain all over it! I tried to stay calm and cool (the words "Andrea, Don't Be a Bridezilla" ran through my mind in the dream) but I ultimately ended up in sad wedding day tears b/c it was too late for us to get married, they needed to move on to the next...

I hope these aren't a regular thing... but it does go to show that I have been doing a TON of thinking about the wedding these days...

"next year"

The new year brings us 2009!!

Finally I can answer the question "when are you getting married?" with a nice "next year!"

I had a few people ask me that very question this weekend and it sounds so nice!

Now I will work on being able to answer the question that follows: "next year, when?"
