1.7 years!

It's been SO busy since baby has arrived. Well actually let me say this- busy but at the same time life has slowed down. Having baby is THE best thing for us- she is pure joy and we look forward to waking up to her smiling face. Everything is done the same, but it just takes extra planning and extra time... with all of that our date nights have fallen to the waste side :(

Until tonight! with the colder weather and fall harvest right around the corner, I wanted to try and get out with just Aaron to have a fun night out.

Today he woke up to find this invite {with an RSVP by 2pm} in his work case.

The invite idea was taken from my crafty friend lindsay- I loved the idea of an actual home made invite/rsvp idea. It makes date night a little bit more official. :)

Check back soon to see what we did on our 1 year and 7 month date night... can you believe that our two year.... TWO YEAR wedding anniversary is ONLY 5 months away!?

1 year and 4 months!

I have TOTALLY been slacking on the anniversary updates, but here is what we've been up to the last few months:

Feb:

 March:

April:

May:

June:

With baby 'A's due date just around the corner, we have been taking it easy for date nights- we spent a lot of time March-May working on the nursery and currently I have been spending a lot of time nesting. Baby could arrive anyday!!

And tonight, with it being date night- I have rented three movies {can't decide which one to watch just yet} and we will be grilling steak & baked potatoes with steamed broccoli! yummmy!

fun fact!

I know I said this blog would expire, and someday I'll get around to it but for now I have something fun to share.

For all of you Minnesotans out there- Aaron and I had our MN Reception held on the grounds of the Little Log House Pioneer Village. Such a pretty and secluded location- we were so happy to have celebrated here with MORE friends and family in honor of our February wedding.

ANYWAY... the recently late and great classic Porky's Drive-In will be moving to this very location! Here's the story and a news write-up on it! {I told my mom, with paying for hall rental and what not for our reception, I like to think we are also part owners now- hahahaha I kid, kind of ;)}

*Porky's drive-in moving to Hastings
"Collector Steve Bauer and his family announced Monday, April 11, that
they were bringing the longtime St. Paul landmark restaurant,
Porky's, to Hastings.
Bauer and his wife, Sylvia, and their family operate the Little Log
House Pioneer Village here. They will add Porky's to their collection
of buildings.
Porky's operated as a popular drive-in diner on University Avenue
until April 3, when it closed.
"It's such an important part of the community," he said Monday. "To
see this thing go into a Dumpster, it's not what should be done to
stuff like this. The memories aren't something you can just make up.
They were built in here. There are all kinds of stories."
Bauer said he met a Twin Cities man named Tim Dowd who met his wife
at Porky's 52 years ago.
"She waited on him, and he thought she was sort of a cute little
girl," Bauer said. "He asked her out, and asked her what time she got
off work. Three months later, he proposed to her in that parking lot.
"It's just stuff like that (that made us want to save the building)."
The main Porky's sign was not part of the sale, but several other
pieces of the restaurant will make their trip to Hastings in addition
to the building. The restaurant will not be operating as a
restaurant, but will be dismantled, put back together and brought to
life in time for the Antique Power Show, set for July 29-31.
The Little Log House Pioneer Village is located south of Hastings off
Highway 61 at 220th Street."

1 YEAR!

It's here... our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!

With it being a Sunday we've had a pretty relaxed and low key day so far, and we have a pretty calm evening ahead. That's what being pregnant on your Anniversary gets you. ;)

All of which is perfect! Although I will miss a glass {or few} of wine tonight and my high energy levels- I wouldn't want it to be any other way. I will be back soon to share more in detail of how we spent our day together.

I am also VERY close to closing the books on this blog. I never did get around to doing any wedding day recaps- mostly because I did that on our everyday blog back in March 2010. You never know, I may still copy and paste a few posts here, just to have them all in one place- we'll see. :)

11 months!

oh. my. gosh.
I wish that we could be right back here again, RIGHT NOW!

This MN cold is unbearable- if only a vacation were in our upcoming plans...

Unfortunately, there is no tropical getaway for us this year- but we do have fun plans to remodel our main upstairs bathroom- which might be just as fun. OK NOT REALLY... but I have to think so or else I will develop some degree of seasonal depression!

Here's to 11 months! Tonight we will be headed out into the BITTER cold for a movie and maybe Hibachi dinner at Osaka!

* 8 years!

Even though Aaron and I now have our Wedding Anniversary of 2.20.10 to celebrate we can't let the date of Nov 17th slip away....

11.17 is our "Dating" Anniversary, I mean... without this date there could be no 2.20! So I thought it would be fun to put up an 8 picture collage of the two of us- just a few fun pictures that I love of us together! :)

* Re-Sale of the decor

After our big MN reception we were able to resell all of the table hurricane glasses. Thanks to Glenda our decorator, she knew of a bride in Oct2010 that was in need of the exact amount for her own wedding and I, for sure, needed to find a place for all of them!

Well.. I am also trying to see if ANYONE is in need of the shell chandeliers that we also had at our reception.

I thought I would throw them out into the land of Craig's List for someone to stumble upon- I put a price range on them as I am open to a BEST OFFER- if someone wants them and can use them, I would MUCH rather pass them off for another Bride's or event planners use!

If YOU know of someone, let me know as well!!

Also, it's November here in MN and we are done done done with weddings until summer 2011- where I will be attending as MOH for this girlie :)

* Registry Rewards

A couple weeks ago I finally cashed in our registry rewards earned by having a Pampered Chef Wedding Registry.

Now... let me tell you this. If you love to cook and if you LOVE having all the best kitchen tools to cook with YOU MUST HAVE A PAMPERED CHEF WEDDING REGISTRY! You will be so happy with yourselves if you make this decision. You can do this a couple different ways.

Option #1: Having a friend, wedding party member, or relative host one of your bridal showers and asking everyone to purchase your shower gift from your hand picked registry. Their gift can be shipped to them so they are able to physically bring a gift to your shower OR they can have the gift sent right to your home. With this there is the option of not needing to spend at least $10 in gift wrap AND/OR you {the bride to-be} needing to borrow "soon to be hubby's" truck for you to drive to your shower with, ensuring enough room to tow everything home!

OR

Option #2: You can include a note {provided by Pampered Chef} in your wedding/shower invites that provides a link to your online registry. Again your guests can have their gift shipped to them OR they can have it sent right to your home.

It was so much fun having, Brown Santa {aka UPS} make a stop at our house just about every other day. This went on for a couple of weeks ;)

With my Mom being a Pampered Chef consultant for many many years, I am spoiled and have a TON of Pampered Chef in my kitchen. But really... it's something for you to think about ESPECIALLY if you enjoy and spend a lot of time cooking. You can whip up so many great meals with the help of PC- it's how we get it done in our kitchen!!

Having the PC registry basically made me a "host", so as I mentioned we had X amount of dollars to spend on free product, X number of 1/2 price items and 20% off ANYTHING based on the sales total of all gifts purchased from our registry.

Here's a picture of all the items I was able to pick out: {Aaron only wanted me to make sure we ordered a new small frying pan}

As a reminder we also registered with Target & Home Depot. We loved getting gift cards to the Home Depot and Target was just easy for just about anyone to pop in and out of for a gift and or gift card.
